Clinical significance and safety
The Emtriva label reports no clinically significant pharmacokinetic interaction between emtricitabine and TDF in the studied combination. They are used in established combination regimens, but this finding does not authorize self-selected treatment or make FTC alone an HIV-prevention regimen. Product-specific indications, renal monitoring, hepatitis B status and other regimen components remain important.
