Celebrex 200 mg (Celecoxib) and Panadol 500 mg (Paracetamol/Acetaminophen): interaction and safety

This source-based reference is not a personal treatment recommendation. The relevance and management of an interaction depend on the exact products, route, dose and clinical situation.

Interaction mechanism

Different analgesic mechanisms; a combination was studied in a specific perioperative setting, not a guarantee of safety for everyone.

Clinical significance and safety

Celecoxib and acetaminophen (paracetamol) have been studied together in a randomised trial of healthy outpatients undergoing elective otolaryngologic surgery. That evidence supports a particular supervised setting, not unrestricted use for every condition or person. Acetaminophen is not a second NSAID, but duplicate acetaminophen in cold or combination pain products and each medicine’s own contraindications still matter. Ask a clinician or pharmacist to check the complete medicine list and appropriate limits. This informational record does not establish that all combinations are risk free.

Using this information

This is a source-based reference record, not a recommendation to combine, stop or change medicines. A missing interaction record does not establish safe use. A qualified healthcare professional should consider the exact products, doses, other medicines and individual health circumstances.
