Abemaciclib and Isavuconazole: interaction and safety
This source-based reference is not a personal treatment recommendation. The relevance and management of an interaction depend on the exact products, route, dose and clinical situation.
Interaction mechanism
Moderate CYP3A inhibition may increase abemaciclib exposure and toxicity.
Clinical significance and safety
With Abemaciclib and Isavuconazole, monitor abemaciclib-related adverse effects, including diarrhoea and blood-count abnormalities. The EMA product information does not require an automatic starting-dose adjustment solely because a moderate CYP3A inhibitor is present, but it does require close toxicity monitoring. Any later adjustment belongs to the oncology team.
Using this information
This is a source-based reference record, not a recommendation to combine, stop or change medicines. A missing interaction record does not establish safe use. A qualified healthcare professional should consider the exact products, doses, other medicines and individual health circumstances.
