Clinical significance and safety
Abiraterone with Rifabutin can reduce abiraterone exposure and potentially reduce cancer-treatment effectiveness. The current US Zytiga prescribing information recommends avoiding strong CYP3A4 inducers when possible. If an inducer cannot be avoided, only the oncology team should plan treatment adjustments and monitoring; do not compensate by changing the abiraterone dose yourself.
