Apalutamide and Paxlovid (Nirmatrelvir/Ritonavir) (Paxlovid 150 mg/100 mg Film Kaplı Tablet): interaction and safety
This source-based reference is not a personal treatment recommendation. The relevance and management of an interaction depend on the exact products, route, dose and clinical situation.
Interaction mechanism
Strong CYP3A induction lowers nirmatrelvir/ritonavir exposure, risking antiviral treatment failure and resistance.
Clinical significance and safety
Apalutamide with Paxlovid (Nirmatrelvir/Ritonavir) is contraindicated in the current Paxlovid prescribing information. Stopping the inducer does not make immediate Paxlovid use safe, because enzyme induction wears off slowly. The oncology and COVID-19 treatment teams should choose an appropriate antiviral plan; do not independently stop the cancer medicine or start Paxlovid.
Using this information
This is a source-based reference record, not a recommendation to combine, stop or change medicines. A missing interaction record does not establish safe use. A qualified healthcare professional should consider the exact products, doses, other medicines and individual health circumstances.
